Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also increase its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.
In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it, and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the necessary component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be placed in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. item upgrades are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of item names. For instance, adding a Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before being "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however, the materials needed aren't as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
If an item is completed, it will be eligible for a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that increase its features. The number of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is located in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of material but will have a lower chance of success.
To determine the height of a structure, engineers will employ a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level and then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential part of the game, and it can boost an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. You can do this via the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in rare cases.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.
Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more often than other items. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This can be either good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that boosts the power of the item by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are rolled into the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the higher your chances of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also comes with a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a great method to give a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to create a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets
Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can be of different dimensions, have none of the elements, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They also aid in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, most upgrades to weapons do not boost the quality of the item's stats when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you own many armor or weapons already.
Some set items are upgraded for their unique procs that can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. ( item upgrade and Level requirements were also increased).
Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to par with the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.
Generally speaking generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly for weapons with spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
